Bone Densitometry
Hendersonville Medical Center's bone densitometer takes Bone Mineral Density (BMD) measurements, which enable our radiologists to determine a patient's risk of fracture and osteoporosis. Our professionally trained and certified staff utilizes a Lunar DPX Alpha densitometer for high-resolution imaging and fast, precise measurements.

Cardiac Imaging
Cardiac Imaging, or heart caths, is x-rays of the coronary arteries and other blood vessels. Our Advantx LCA System provides high speed imaging and captures the best possible images.

Cardiovascular Non-Invasive
Hendersonville Medical Center offers non-invasive cardiac monitoring procedures. For example, Holter monitors allow for 24 to 48 hours of tracing heart rhythms and possible dysrhythmias, which may only occur intermittently. Our Cardiac Rehabilitation department assists with patients' recovery and maintenance of heart-related problems.

CT Scan
Our Hi Speed Spiral CT scanner means quicker examinations for patients and physicians, saving up to 85% more time over previous scanners. The Hi Speed CT technology allows for 3D image reconstruction which reduces radiation exposure, exam time and provides improved imaging capabilities.

Laparoscopy
In laparoscopy, a laparoscope is passed through a small incision in the abdominal wall. Fitted with grasping and cutting tools, the laparoscope can perform minor surgery and take tissue samples for biopsy. Laparoscopy is often done on an outpatient surgery basis.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
MRI is a painless way to look inside your body without requiring the use of X-rays. With a large magnet, radiowaves and a computer, your body is scanned to provide very detailed pictures of areas that cannot be viewed on conventional X-rays. MRI exams make it possible for physicians to see certain types of tissue and obtain important information about the brain, spine, joints and internal organs.

Mammography (ACR Accredited)
Mammograms are low energy X-rays of the breast that are used to screen apparently normal breasts for cancer. Early detection of breast cancer is know to save lives. Yearly mammograms are recommended for women 40 and over, though screening schedules should be determined by your physician.

Minimally Invasive Surgery
Minimal Invasive Surgery is an operative procedure performed to result in the smallest possible incision or no incision at all; includes laparoscopic, laparoscopically assisted, thoracoscopic, and endoscopic surgical procedures.

Nuclear Scan
Full diagnostic cardiology and nuclear services are provided by CNMT certified technologists who are subspecialty trained in nuclear medicine. Services include cardiac, skeletal, genitourinary, pulmonary and oncology imaging.
